An ‘A Grade’ Sarod artist of All India Radio & National Television, ABHISEK LAHIRI was initiated in Sarod at an early age of 6 & trained under the tutelage of his father as well as Guru, eminent Sarod player Pandit Aloke Lahiri & becoming one of his premier disciples.
Abhisek’s recital has a blending of Sarod Style of playing of Shahajanpur, Maihar & Seni Beenkar Gharana. Abhisek’s playing reflects the subtlety, aestheticism & nostalgic spirituality while combining it with resonant power & intensity to captivate the listener with the beauty & originality of his playing.
Abhisek possess the dignity of performing in Europe Parliament in France as first Indians along with his eminent father Pandit Alok Lahiri.
Abhisek is an empanelled member artist of Indian Council for Cultural relations (ICCR), New Delhi.
Abhisek has taken part in many prestigious Classical Music/ World music Festivals & concerts in India & Abroad like USA, Canada, UK, Europe, South East Asia etc. To name a few: World Kinder Festival- Holland, Musee Guimet- Paris, Cannes World Music Day Festival- France, India Night Fest- Germany, TSS Multicultural Festival- Toronto, Canada & TMG Concerts & Lec Dems in Hamilton, Canada etc...
